LUSSI Program Student Guides are peer mentors in the program that supports F1RST+ students in the cohort base program, starting with structures 1st year programming. Student Guides work in pairs to support 20-25 students by facilitating monthly one-on-one meetings, bi-monthly "family meetings", connect students with faculty and staff mentors in the program as well as resources across the university and support events organized by the Center for Student Access and Success. The role begins with training prior to the start of the program in August, followed by pre-orientation for the program participants and an academic year of engagement with the 1st year student participants.
